Welcome to the website of pianist Oliver Franks
Oliver Tom Franks (2000) is a Dutch-British pianist from Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Having been educated as a teenager at the specialist Purcell School of Music in London, Oliver went on to combine his musical life with studies in Arabic and Classics at the University of Oxford, spending time in Tunisia and Lebanon.
In 2022, he left university in order to devote himself entirely to his work. He has since given concerts in The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland, being praised by media as “a young pianist not to be missed” after his French début.
He leads an active life as both a solo pianist and chamber musician, appearing regularly at festivals across Europe. He receives occasional mentoring from professor Jianing Kong (Royal College of Music, London).
Oliver lives in the Swedish countryside where he enjoys the quiet of the surrounding forest, tending to his garden and walking with his wife, Margot.
